70th anniversary of liberation of Alsace – Neiderhausbergen and Strasbourg

November 24, 1944 – The Americans liberated Strasbourg from the Nazi Germany.
Today, 70 years later, the people of Alsace celebrated the event with ceremonies, re-enactments, and the raising of the flag on top of the Cathedral. Parades of WWII era vehicles, accompanied by people with their time-appropriate military costumes, were received by people also in traditional clothing as common at the time.

I would like to update this blog once I get a better sense of this very very rich history from this region in WWII.

Strasbourg libérée !
